Kalob Adair has been playing football since the 6th grade, so it’s no surprise he was set to be a key player his senior year at New Albany High School. However, in preparation for the fall 2019 season, Kalob sustained a knee injury which prevented him from playing. Kalob visited SOG’s New Albany clinic for an appointment with Dr. Ryves Moore on September 9, 2019. Ten days later, Dr. Moore performed surgery on Kalob’s right ACL and medial meniscus tears.
“Dr. Moore was so informative,” said Kalob’s mother, Virginia Brick. “He laid out all of our options before going into surgery. His nurse, Lexy, was such a tremendous help in the process, as well. We were fortunate to work with Dr. Moore and his team while coordinating Kalob’s care. After the surgery, Kalob would cheer on his team from the sidelines as he recovered. Dr. Moore, along with Chase from Crossroads Rehab, was always on the sidelines. Their awesome partnership and personal interaction was so important to us.”
Following his first surgery, Kalob, unfortunately, injured his left knee in the spring of 2020. He visited SOG’s Oxford clinic for an evaluation on April 17, 2020. Shortly after, in May, Kalob had surgery for his left ACL and posterior horn medial and lateral meniscus tears.
“The relationship built with Dr. Moore from the first surgery gave us peace of mind and confidence going into the second surgery,” said Virginia.
For now, Kalob’s most immediate goal is to walk across the stage without crutches at New Albany High School’s traditional graduation ceremony this July. While in recovery, Kalob busies himself with the company he started, KA Media, where he offers marketing services for businesses. Additionally, Kalob continues to focus on his diet, exercise, and wellness as he looks forward to the upcoming seasons he’ll play at Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas, where he received a football scholarship.
