TUPELO, Miss. (August 15, 2019) – Specialty Orthopedic Group is pleased to welcome Doctors J. Caleb Adams and A. Ryves Moore to the practice.
Doctors Adams and Moore received their medical degrees from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson. Dr. Adams, a foot and ankle specialist, completed his residency training at University of Mississippi Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation in Jackson, and his fellowship as a Foot and Ankle Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Department in Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Moore, a sports medicine specialist, completed his residency at the University of Tennessee – Campbell Clinic in Memphis, and sports medicine fellowship at Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Institute in Birmingham. Throughout his training, Dr. Moore assisted in the care of many high school, college, and professional teams, including the University of Memphis and University of Alabama athletic programs, Memphis Redbirds, Memphis Grizzlies, and Birmingham Barons.
Dr. Adams hails from Crystal Springs, MS and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. After working as a nurse for four years, he decided to pursue his passion of orthopedic surgery. “I’m excited to be joining Specialty Orthopedic Group and bringing state-of-the-art specialized foot and ankle care to north Mississippi,” said Dr. Adams. “My training at the University of Pittsburgh allowed me to see a variety of foot and ankle conditions and gave me the opportunity to work with surgeons who took care of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburg Penguins.”
A Holly Springs, MS native, Dr. Moore graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry from the University of Mississippi in Oxford and cum laude with a Master of Science degree in Biology from Mississippi College in Clinton. “I am excited to return to Mississippi and join such a great group of orthopedic surgeons,” said Dr. Moore. “Specialty Orthopedic Group is the only practice in North Mississippi where each physician practices exclusively within his sub-specialty. This allows me to use my extensive sports medicine training to provide the best care for my patients.”

Dr. Adams will practice and operate in Tupelo and Oxford. Dr. Moore will see patients at the New Albany and Oxford clinics and operate in Tupelo, New Albany, and Oxford.
“I specialize in all foot and ankle conditions,” said Dr. Adams. “Whether it be a sports injury, arthritis, heel pain, bunions, hammertoes, or any other problem, we have it covered. I am especially excited about the future of total ankle replacement,” he added. “We have been replacing ankles for over 15 years now with good results.”
“I specialize in sports medicine and treat athletes of all ages,” Dr. Moore shared. “When surgery is necessary, I use minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques to treat injuries of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee. These techniques minimize recovery time and get you back to the activities you enjoy as quickly as possible.”
Dr. Adams is a member of AO Trauma and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, fishing, SEC sports, and traveling.
Dr. Moore is a member of the American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He and his wife, Mary Chris, have three daughters. Dr. Moore enjoys hunting, fishing, mountain biking, traveling, and cooking.
