Scott Yarbrough has a servant’s heart. As a senior in high school, he saw a person in need on the roadside and pulled over to assist. While helping the driver, another vehicle crashed into the back of the automobile, pinning Scott between the two. Both drivers left the scene, and Scott was left for over two hours before another vehicle stopped to help him. His dreams of being a high school coach changed that day, and he has suffered exponentially since then.

Having had multiple surgeries over the years, attempts to repair Scott’s knee were unsuccessful, leading to a dormant bone infection in his left knee. Scott and his wife, Donna, sought help from multiple doctors and were met with the same response – “The risk is too high. There’s nothing we can do.”

“Scott lost all hope,” shared Donna. “Someone told us, ‘just go see Dr. Roberson,’ so we did. Dr. Roberson told us, ‘I can help you, but you need to get your back repaired first’.”

Shortly after surgery to repair four discs in his back, Scott was ready for left total knee arthroplasty. Dr. Roberson operated in Specialty Orthopedic Group’s surgery center using Navio robotic-assisted technology, a surgeon-guided handpiece used to precisely position Scott’s knee implant based on his unique anatomy.

Now, Scott is walking unassisted for the first time in over ten years.

“For the last year, Scott has been rolling backwards on a rolling walker to get around,” said Donna. “He is so excited to see improvement and progress. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for him.”

“We are so pleased with our total experience,” added Donna. “Everyone at Specialty Orthopedic Group was so nice and polite. Everyone we met treated us like they cared about what happened to us.”

Scott is most looking forward to attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. Click HERE for a quick video of Scott’s progress.
