TUPELO, Miss. (August 4, 2020) – Specialty Orthopedic Group is pleased to welcome Chief Operations Officer Cody Atkins and ASC Administrator Lori Tamburo Martini to the group.
Cody Atkins joined Specialty Orthopedic Group (SOG) as the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and brings 16 years’ experience to SOG in technology implementation, network management experience, and clinical operations in the orthopedic healthcare field.
“I’m excited to link my vast knowledge in orthopedic operations with Specialty Orthopedic Group’s infrastructure,” shared Cody. “My ultimate goal is to continue to identify cost-effective management of resources while remaining focused on efficient, quality patient care and satisfaction.”
In his previous role, Cody spearheaded the configuration and deployment of a multifaceted network for a 50,000 square-foot state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center and medical facility, worked diligently with myriad healthcare professionals to create a more efficient and standardized workflow for over 350 orthopedic healthcare professionals, and managed and implemented governmental quality improvement activities, as well as the transition from paper to electronic medical records.
“Cody’s commitment to excellence and teamwork paired with his progressive technological and managerial experience is the leadership we need as Specialty Orthopedic Group continues to expand by adding additional providers and locations,” noted Sparky Luster, Chief Executive Officer. “The 16 years of experience at a large sub-specialty orthopedic practice he brings to SOG is invaluable. He understands where we are as a practice today, but more importantly, he knows where we want to go.”
Outside of his role as COO, Cody also lovingly serves as “Daddy” to his two-year-old daughter, CoraBryce. He enjoys Mississippi State athletics, gaming, collecting vintage pieces, and spending time with family and friends. Cody and his wife, Melissa, are expecting a son in December 2020.
